Coming back to tie the game on Danielle Crystal's
'07 goal with 8:27 left in regulation, the Cardinals kept the momentum into
overtime by outshooting R.I.C. 6-0 in the extra frame of the game in
Middletown Tues., Oct. 18. After several good scoring attempts were
thwarted, Lauren Ogden '07 (#7) finished off a corner kick by Becca Morrell
'06 that was headed at the near post by Elena Bertocci '09 to the front of
the goal where Ogden picked it up on the short hop and fired the ball into
the goal with just :43 remaining in the first OT.The win was the team's
second of the season and came over a squad the entered the game with a fine
9-3 mark. Gavi Elkind '09 covered the goal for the final 54:17 and made four
saves while holding R.I.C. off the board. Andrea Giuliano '09 minded the net
for the first half, posting six saves and allowing the lone R.I.C. goal.
