TEIXEIRA’S GOLDEN GOAL
WINS IT FOR RIC

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College senior forward Kyle Teixeira (Warren, RI) scored
the game-winning goal in the 101st minute to lift the
Anchormen past Connecticut College, 1-0, in double overtime. Teixeira
took a pass from sophomore defender Matt Souto (East Providence,
RI) up the sideline, cut to the center of the penalty box and
rifled a shot past CC freshman goalkeeper Ted Lane (Portland, OR)
to give RIC the win. |

The Anchormen improve to 9-4-2
overall, while the loss drops the Camels to 4-9 on the season. |

|
RIC sophomore goalkeeper
Jadon Neves (Warren, RI) made four saves to improve his record to
5-4-1 and earn his third shutout of the season. The Anchormen have
eight shutouts in 15 contests this fall. Lane made five saves in a
losing effort as his record dips to 4-7. |

In upcoming action, RIC will
host nationally-ranked Keene State on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 3:30 p.m.
The Camels will host Tufts on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. |
