RIC AND KEENE STATE BATTLE TO, 1-1,

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College and Keene State College played to a 1-1 double-overtime
tie in collegiate men’s soccer action on Thursday afternoon. The
Anchormen are now 9-4-3 overall and 4-0-2 in the Little East
Conference. The Owls are 11-2-3 overall and 5-0-1 in the LEC. |

Keene State sophomore
midfielder Greg Sauer (West Brookfield, MA) scored in the tenth
minute to open the game’s scoring. Freshman midfielder Alex Horne
(Harvard, MA) had the assist. |

|
The lead was short-lived as
RIC sophomore forward Kyle Genereux (Harrisville, RI) converted
on a pass from senior forward Kyle Teixeira (Warren, RI) in
the 12th minute. |

|
KSC sophomore goalkeeper
Cal Mintz (Westport, CT) made 12 saves, including two big stops on
Teixeira in the second overtime period, to improve his record to
6-2-1. RIC sophomore goalkeeper Sean Gonsalves (Somerset, MA)
made ten saves, as he stays unbeaten on the year with a 4-0-2 record. |

In upcoming action, RIC will
play at Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. Keene State
will play at UMass Boston on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. |
