3-1, from the 2006 Little East Conference Softball Tournament.

The Corsairs scored three unearned
runs off of Keene State junior starting pitcher Kari Gardner (Grafton,
MA) in the top of the first
inning. Senior second baseman Amanda Leal (New
Bedford, MA) singled to
center field to open the frame and advanced to third on a Keene State
error on freshman shortstop Vicki Andruszkiewicz’s (Danvers,
MA) sacrifice bunt attempt.
Andruszkiewicz then stole second. Leal scored and junior center
fielder Shannon Allberry (Attleboro,
MA) reached on an Owl
error. Junior designated player Jessica Werner (Hubbardston,
MA) doubled in both runners
and chased Gardner from game with only one out. KSC sophomore pitcher
Ashlee Nicholson (Swanzey,
NH) came on and closed out
the inning. |

|
The Owls scored one run in the bottom
of the fourth as sophomore first baseman Kaity Conklin (Selkirk,
NY) singled in senior third
baseman Sarah Campbell (Auburn,
MA). |

Corsair freshman pitcher Amie
Nickerson (Wrentham, MA),
who led UMD to a 1-0 win over second-seeded Eastern Connecticut
yesterday afternoon, had another outstanding effort to pick up her
eighth win (8-3) of the season. Nickerson allowed four hits, while
striking out four, to pick up the victory. |

Keene State’s Nicholson was sharp in
relief, allowing no runs on three hits to go along with five
strikeouts. Gardner took the loss (4-3). |
