Caitlin Gavin Named Little East
Offensive Player of the Week

Providence,
RI—Rhode
Island College junior center Caitlin Gavin (Portsmouth,
RI)
was named the Little East Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player
of the Week for her performance in three games. |
|
|
|
Gavin
established a new school record for goals in a game with 11 tallies,
to go along with an assist, in RIC’s season-opening loss, 19-15, at
the University of New England on Mar. 13. She tied her own school
record for the most points in a game (12) as well. |
|
|
|
Gavin had five
goals and an assist in the club’s, 13-8, loss at Curry on Mar. 15, as
well as two goals in the Anchorwomen’s, 18-4, loss at M.I.T. on Mar.
18. For the season, she has played in three games, starting both of
them. She has 18 goals and two assists for 20 points to go along with
15 ground balls and 11 draw controls. She
has scored at least one goal in 25 consecutive games dating back to
the 2004 season. |

Ryan Angel’s team is 0-3 overall and has yet to see action in the
Little East Conference. The Anchorwomen will play at Nichols on
Wednesday, Mar. 22 at
3:30 p.m. |
