HAWKS DOWN ANCHORWOMEN, 15-5
Stout and Logan Combine for Seven Goals in RWU Win
|

Providence, RI—Roger Williams defeated Rhode Island College,
15-5, in collegiate women’s lacrosse action on Thursday afternoon. The
Hawks improve to 4-3, while the loss drops the Anchorwomen to 2-4 on
the season. Roger Williams jumped out to a 4-0 lead, scoring four
goals in the first 7:53 of the game. RIC came back with three of its
own to cut the Hawks’ lead to one, but RWU outscored the Anchorwomen
11-2 the rest of the way. |

RWU
freshman attack Libby Stout (Concord, MA) led all scorers with
four goals and two assists for six points. Freshman midfielder
Meghan Logan (Ridgewood, NJ) had three goals and an assist for
four points. Freshman midfielder Jacqueline Criss (Westwood, MA)
and freshman attack Kerry O’Donoghue (Martha’s Vineyard, MA)
each had two scores in the win. Sophomore goalkeeper Mallory
Schnare (Worcester, MA) made two stops in 45 minutes of action to
improve her record to 4-3. Junior goalkeeper Dana Staats
(Portsmouth, RI) made two stops in the final 15 minutes of the
game. |

The
Anchorwomen were foiled in their bid to even their record as junior
center Caitlin Gavin Gavin (Portsmouth, RI) scored four times
in a losing effort. Sophomore goalkeeper Sydney Culbertson (North
Kingstown, RI) made 15 saves as her record dips to 2-4 on the
season. |
