PANTHERS STAY PERFECT IN LEC PLAY
Dark & Evans Pace PSU Attack in Win Over RIC

Providence, RI—Plymouth
State University downed Rhode Island College, 17-6, in collegiate
women’s lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers improve to
7-5 overall and remain unbeaten in the Little East Conference with a
5-0 mark. The Anchorwomen suffer their eighth consecutive loss and
fall to 2-11 overall and 0-4 in the LEC. |

The
Panthers had ten different players score at least one goal and 11
different players record at least one point. Plymouth State scored the
contest’s first seven goals and led at the half, 11-1. The Anchorwomen
managed five second-half goals, but the outcome was never in doubt. |

|
Senior
midfielder Nicole Evans (Scituate,
MA)
and freshman attack Melissa Dark (Peterborough,
NH)
led the way
for the Panthers with three goals apiece. Dark’s free-position goal
with 13:10 remaining in the first half proved to be the game-winner.
Junior midfielder Meg Cupoli (Southboro,
MA),
senior attack Bethany Brown (Norwich,
CT)
and senior attack Caitlyn Irving (Avon,
CT)
each tallied twice. Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Beebe (Rumson,
NJ)
played the
first half, making six saves and allowing one goal. Freshman
Lindsay DeLorie (Holliston,
MA)
played the
second half, allowing five goals, while making one stop. Beebe earned
the win, upping her record to 5-4. |

Rhode
Island College junior center Caitlin Gavin (Portsmouth,
RI)
had four
goals and an assist for five points in a losing effort. Senior
defender Crystal Colagiovanni (Johnston,
RI)
scored a goal on Senior Day. Sophomore goalkeeper Sydney Culbertson
(North
Kingstown, RI)
made 16 saves as her record falls to 2-11. |
