Nicole Riley Named Little East
Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week
|

|
Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College junior pitcher Nicole Riley (North Providence, RI)
was named the Little East Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for
the second time this season. |
|
|
|
Riley was 3-0 with one save, a
0.00 ERA and 21 strikeouts in a 4-0 week for RIC. She appeared in each
of the club’s four games and did not allow an earned run in 14.1
innings of work. Riley fired a no-hitter with ten strikeouts in a
five-inning, 8-0, win over UMass Boston on Apr. 15. She came back in
game two in relief and earned the save, allowing no runs, to go along
with six strikeouts, in three innings of work. |

For the season, Riley has
appeared in 18 games, starting 13 of them. She is 12-2 with a 1.37
earned run average, 78 strikeouts and four shutouts in 92.0 innings of
work. |

|
Head Coach Maria Morin’s
team is 17-7 on the season. In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will
play at UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Apr. 18, host Coast Guard on
Wednesday, Apr. 19, Westfield State on Thursday, Apr. 20, play at
Plymouth State on Saturday, Apr. 22 and host Keene State on Sunday,
Apr. 23. |
