Christie Lotti Named Little East
Conference Softball Player of the Week
|

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College sophomore first baseman Christie Lotti (Waterford,
CT)
was named the Little East Conference Softball Player of
the Week. |
|
|
|
Lotti helped lead
the Anchorwomen to their second consecutive Little East Conference
Softball Regular Season Championship last week. She batted .476
(10-for-21) with seven runs scored, ten hits, two RBI, two doubles,
two triples and one homer in a 5-1 week for the Anchorwomen. She
scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth, after leading
off the inning with a double, in game one of a doubleheader sweep of
LEC rival Keene State on Apr. 27. |

She has played in
38 games, starting all of them, on the season. She is batting .395
(51-for-129) with 35 runs scored, 57 hits, seven doubles, nine
triples, four home runs and 23 RBI. She owns a .682 slugging
percentage, a .432 on-base percentage and a .982 fielding percentage.
Lotti leads the team in batting, hits, extra base hits, triples and
home runs. She is tied for second on the team in RBI. |

Head Coach
Maria Morin’s team is currently 29-8-1 overall and finished the
regular season with a 11-2-1 (first place) mark in the Little East
Conference. RIC went 5-1 last week, earning wins over the top
competition in the LEC. The Anchorwomen will host the 2006 Little East
Conference Softball Tournament at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex
on May 4-6. |
