Rhode Island College Names Jeff
Verklan
Marketing & Athletic Development Intern
|

|
Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College named Jeff Verklan as the marketing and athletic
development intern for the 2006-07 year. |
|
|
|
Verklan will
assist the director of athletics and the assistant athletic director
for development in the promotion of RIC’s 19 varsity sports through
building corporate partnerships with local business and developing new
fundraising strategies. |
|
|
|
A recent graduate
of SUNY-Cortland, Verklan received his bachelor’s degree in sport
management. During his undergraduate career with the Red Dragons,
Verklan was a four-year member of the Sport Management Club. The Sport
Management Club oversaw the logistical planning of all club activities
as well as award ceremonies. He also played an integral role in the
event planning of the annual golf tournament. |

|
During the spring
semester of his senior year, Verklan served as an intern in the
marketing and promotions office at Niagara University. As the head
intern of game-day and marketing Promotions, he supervised 12 student
workers in the endorsement of half-time entertainment. Verklan also
worked extensively with the Purple Eagles Kid’s Club, including
overseeing membership sales and renewals as well as organizing club
activities and parties. |

A native of
Lockport, New York, Verklan currently resides in Cranston, Rhode
Island. |
