Roger Williams University junior forward Sarah Dwyer (Providence,
RI) registered 11 points and seven rebounds, but the Hawks came up
just short as they were defeated by Rhode Island College 63-55 in
their home opener on Thursday night. |

The Hawks found
themselves battling back throughout the game, but never put together a
lengthy scoring streak and trailed throughout the game. Sophomore
guard Caitlyn Leone (Irvington, NY) posted eight points, while
junior center Katie Toye (Longmeadow, MA) made six points and
nine rebounds in the loss. The Hawks shot 36% during the game, but
shot only 25% beyond the arc. |

Rhode Island College
Jamie Angell (Cranston, RI) registered a team-high 15 points and
added three rebounds, while teammate Josalee Danieli (New
Gloucester, ME) also added 14 points and notched four rebounds in
the win. |

The Hawks fall to 1-3,
while the Rhode Island College improves to 4-1 on the season. The
Hawks will be back in action on Saturday (Dec. 3) when they play host
to Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Anna Maria College at 1:00 p.m. |
