            Providence, RI—Rhode Island College mourns the passing of Catherine T. Murray ’34, ’51. Ms. Murray was 92. The College’s intercollegiate athletics facility, The Murray Center, was named after Murray, along with her late sister Mary ’33. Ms. Murray was a guard on one of the College’s first organized basketball teams.

            The two sisters taught for four decades in the public school system in Warwick, Rhode Island. Their lives exemplified in the most significant ways the ideals of their profession. Because of their love and dedication, the lives of many were touched and changed.
