Weir’s Career-High 14 Rebounds Helps Anchormen to Win |

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island
College downed Johnson & Wales University, 67-58, in collegiate men’s
basketball action. RIC never trailed in the game, en route to its
fourth win in the club’s last five games. The Anchormen are 5-2, while
the Wildcats suffer their third straight loss and fall to 2-3 on the
season. |

RIC junior center John Weir (Danbury,
CT)
grabbed a game and career-high 14 boards to go along with a
season-high 16 points in the win. Senior guard Kevin Payette (Woonsocket,
RI)
had 14 points and seven rebounds. Junior guard Kinsey Durgin (Greenwood,
ME)
had nine points, eight rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block.

JWU senior guard Brian Fernandes (Fall
River, MA)
led all scorers
with 17 points. Senior guard Brian Bannister (Boston,
MA)
had 12 points and senior forward Conor Moran (Rio
de Janeiro, Brazil)
