Junior Guard Tandem Hands Plymouth State Its First Loss |

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College junior guards Kinsey Durgin (Greenwood, ME) and
Kamari Williams (Springfield, MA) scored 21 and 20 points,
respectively, in the Anchormen’s 80-75, win over Little East
Conference rival Plymouth State. The Anchormen improve to 6-3 overall
and 1-1 in league play. The Panthers suffer their first loss of the
season, falling to 7-1 overall and 1-1 in the Little East. |

Rhode Island College has won
its last four meetings with Plymouth State in The Murray Center. RIC
freshman forward Kaseem Johnson (New Haven, CT) posted his
third career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Durgin was
white hot from downtown, connecting on five of ten three-point
attempts. Senior guard Kevin Payette (Woonsocket, RI) had 11
points, including two free throws to seal the win, to go along with
three boards, two assists and two steals. Sophomore guard Davon
Yarbrough (New Haven, CT) had ten points and four assists. |

Plymouth State junior forward
Andreas Pope (Brooklyn, CT) was one assist shy of a triple
double, with 25 points, 13 boards and nine assists. Junior forward
Mike Walcek (Dover, NH) had 22 points and eight assists. |

|
RIC and Plymouth State are off
for finals and the holidays. Both teams will resume the season after
Jan. 1. |
