Coach Kevin Jackson’s team has four meets under their belts
this season. RIC competed at the Tufts University Invitational on
Saturday, Jan. 21 and placed ninth (16 teams) with a score of 27.0.
Tufts won the meet with a team score of 163.0. |

Anchorwomen
Notables |

• Senior
Dana Skorupa (Cumberland,
RI)
has been among the leaders at every meet this season. The sprinter
recently placed first in the 200 meters with a time of 27.19 and
second in the 55 meters with a time of 7.57 at the Tufts Invitational
on Jan. 21. The week before, Skorupa placed first in both the 55 and
200 meters with times of 7.54 and 27.29, respectively, at the Wesleyan
Invitational. |

• Freshman
Hannah Clark (Attleboro,
MA)
placed seventh
in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:59.44 at the Wesleyan
Invitational. Freshman Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington,
RI)
placed fifth in the weight throw and eighth in the shot with distances
of 11.99 and 5.86 meters, respectively, at the same meet. |

CONFERENCE ACCOLADES: Skorupa has been named the Little East
Conference Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week once (1/17) on
the season. |
