FOURTH STRAIGHT IN, 82-70, WIN
15-0 Run and 11 Second-Half Three-Pointers Sink Coast Guard |

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College went on a 15-0 run on the
strength of five consecutive three-pointers with 15:00 left in the
second half as the Anchormen pulled away from Coast Guard and earned
an 82-70 victory on Monday night. RIC shot 58 percent (11/19) from
downtown in the second frame. It is the fourth straight win for the
Anchormen who improve to 12-7 overall, while the Bears fall to 13-5 on
the season. |

RIC freshman
guard Cameron Stewart (Newport, RI) went seven for eight from
the field, and a perfect four-for-four from beyond the three-point
arc, to register a career-high 18 points. Stewart also notched three
boards and a steal. Seven different Anchormen hit at least one
three-pointer in the win. Junior guard Kamari Williams
(Springfield, MA) had 15 points, five assists and three
rebounds. Junior guard Kinsey Durgin (Greenwood, ME) had five
points, five boards, three steals and dished out a career-high ten
assists. |

Coast Guard had
a pair of forwards record double-doubles, led by sophomore Craig
Johnson’s (Medford, OR) game-high 25 points and 12 rebounds.
Sophomore forward Jeff Prebeck (Columbus, IN) had 14 points and
ten boards, while sophomore guard Grant Johnson (Grayson, GA)
chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds. |

action, RIC will play at Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 3
p.m. Coast Guard will play at Clark on Wednesday, Feb. 1. |
