Kinsey
Durgin Named Little East Conference
Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
|

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College junior guard Kinsey Durgin (Greenwood,
ME) was named the
Little East Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his
performance in two conference wins last week. |
|
|
|
Durgin averaged 15.5 points, 7.5
rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.
He had 23 points, ten rebounds, four assists and four steals in RIC’s,
85-58, win over Western Connecticut on Feb. 7. He had eight points,
seven assists, five boards and three steals in the Anchormen’s, 75-68,
victory against Southern Maine on Feb. 11. |

For the season, Durgin has played
in 22 games, starting all of them. He is averaging 14.4 points, 5.4
rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He leads the squad with
58 made three-point baskets and is shooting 41 percent (58-141) from
downtown on the season. |

|
Durgin is a management/marketing
major and a 2003 graduate of Telstar High School. |

|
|
Head Coach Bob Walsh’s
team is 15-7 overall and 8-4 (third place) in the Little East
Conference. RIC has won seven straight games and will play at UMass
Dartmouth on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. |
