Manny Karngar Places 12th
at
NCAA Championships
|

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College senior Manny Karngar (Providence, RI) placed 12th
in the 800 meters at the NCAA Div. III Men’s Indoor Track and Field
Championships, which were hosted by St. Olaf College (MN) on Mar. 10
and 11. |

|
In preliminary action of the
800 meters on Friday, Mar. 10, Karngar placed sixth in his heat with a
time of 1:56.88. The top two finishers in each heat, plus the next
four fastest times, advanced to the finals. |
|
|
|
Karngar qualified with a time
of 1:53.56 in the preliminary round of the 800 meters at the New
England Championships on Feb. 25. In other action this winter, Karngar
earned All-New England honors in the 800 meters, placing third with a
time of 1:56.39 at the New England Div. III Championships, hosted by
Williams on Feb. 18. He earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in both
the 400 and 800 meters at the Alliance Championships, hosted by
Southern Maine on Feb. 13. |

This is the second consecutive
season Karngar has qualified for the National Championships in the 800
meters. He earned All-American honors in the 800 meters as a junior in
2005. |

He is a finance major and a
2002 graduate of Shea High School. |
