ANCHORMEN IMPROVE TO 2-0

Brookline, MA—Rhode Island College upped its record to 2-0 with a 305-460 win over Newbury College at Putterham Golf Course on Friday afternoon. The club’s team score of 305 was a school-record for the lowest score in a match in the program’s seven-year history.

The Anchormen posted the five best scores on the afternoon, including sophomore Lionel Noel (West Warwick, RI) who was the medalist with a 72 on the afternoon. Junior Barrett Kern (Pawtucket, RI) was one stroke off the pace with a 73.

In upcoming action, RIC will host a quad-match with Elms, Worcester State and Johnson & Wales on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Triggs Memorial Golf Course in Providence.
