RIC WIN STREAK STOPPED AT EIGHT
Anchormen Go 2-1 at Quad-Meet

Providence, RI—The Rhode Island College men’s golf team saw an eight-match win streak stopped at a quad-meet, hosted by the Anchormen, at Triggs Memorial Golf Course. The Anchormen went 1-2, downing Worcester State, 340-364, and falling to Johnson & Wales, 340-323, and Elms, 340-332. JWU went 3-0, Elms was 2-1, while Worcester State was 0-3.

 

The Anchormen had won eight consecutive matches coming into the meet, winning the final six matches of the spring 2006 season and their first two contests this fall.

 

RIC sophomore Lionel Noel (West Warwick, RI) fired the third-lowest score on the day with a 79. Senior Tim Carpentier (Smithfield, RI) was tied for the fourth-lowest mark on the day with and an 81.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will play at Johnson & Wales on Friday, Sept. 29.
