ANCHORWOMEN SPLIT TWO AT CLARK TRI-MEET
RIC Downs Host Clark 3-1, Then Falls to Eastern Nazarene,
3-1

MA—Rhode
Island College split two matches at a tri-meet hosted by Clark
University on Saturday afternoon. The Anchorwomen defeated host Clark,
3-1, then fell to Eastern Nazarene, 3-1. |

RIC downed
the Cougars, taking game one, 30-22, falling in game two, 30-17, then
storming back to take games three and four, 30-18 and 30-25,
respectively. Senior middle hitter Erin Miga (Cranston, RI) led
the squad with 16 kills. Junior right side hitter Sherri Heard
(Coventry, RI) and junior outside hitter Madison Greene
(Cranston, RI) also registered double figures in kills with 12 and
10, respectively. Junior setter Jeanne Rosa (Milford, CT)
posted a team-high 24 assists to go along with 12 digs and three
service aces. Senior libero Stephanie Wojciechowski (North
Kingstown, RI) had a team-high 16 digs. |

The
Anchorwomen battled hard against Eastern Nazarene, but fell, 3-1, in
four games. RIC dropped game one, 31-29, then won game two, 31-29. The
Anchorwomen dropped games three and four, 30-23 and 32-30,
respectively. Heard had an outstanding match in a losing effort with a
team-high 16 kills to go along with three digs and three blocks.
Greene and Miga also paced the offense with 13 and 11 kills,
respectively. Junior setter Amy Souza (Tiverton, RI) registered
a team-high 27 assists with five digs. Rosa had 20 assists, eight digs
and three service aces. |
