RI—Rhode
Island College junior forward Jimmy Hernandez (Providence, RI)
scored in the 83rd and 86th minute to snap a 1-1
tie and lift the Anchormen past Roger Williams, 3-1, on Tuesday
afternoon. The Anchormen, who have won six of their last seven games,
ended the Hawk’s six-game winning streak. |

The first
ten minutes were marked by a flurry of activity, with Rhode Island
College sophomore defender Josh Silva (Dartmouth, MA) drawing
first blood in the 10th minute, heading in corner kick from
freshman midfielder Brandon Migliore (Coventry, RI). Roger
Williams’ Antoine Bell (Bordeaux, France) evened the score less
than a minute later with a header set up by Dan Saccoccio
(Holtsville, NY). |

Rhode
Island College sophomore Dan Rodrigues (Cumberland, RI) made
his first collegiate state in net, making one save in 32 minutes.
Junior goalkeeper Jadon Neves (Warren, RI) came on in relief,
making one save and earned his eighth win (8-4). RWU’s Kevin Deegan
(Seymour, CT) made five saves in the loss. |

In upcoming
action, Rhode Island College will host Little East Conference rival
Eastern Connecticut in the regular season finale on Saturday, Oct. 28.
It will be Senior Day for forward Chris Childs (Cranston, RI),
midfielder Nic Rossi (North Kingstown, RI) and defender Nick
Tavares (East Providence, RI) who will be honored prior to the
game. |
