Rhode Island College Men’s Golf Places Second at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

 

North Dartmouth, MA—The Rhode Island College men’s golf team placed second (10 teams) with a score of 514 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Apr. 14-15. Sunday’s round was reduced to nine holes due to poor weather conditions.

 

Sophomore Lionel Noel (West Warwick, RI) was the Anchormen’s top finisher, placing seventh with a score of 126 (83-43). He finished eight strokes behind the top golfer.

 

Sophomore R.J. Tassoni (Greenville, RI) tied for eighth overall with a score of 128 (82-46). Junior Barrett Kern (Pawtucket, RI) tied for 11th overall with a score of 129 (82-47). Both Tassoni and Kern posted the Anchormen’s top scores in the first round. Senior Sean DeSilva (West Warwick, RI) tied for 18th overall with a score of 131 (86-45). Senior Shawn Rebocho (Albion, RI) tied for 26th with a score of 134 (86-48).

 

Head Coach Greg Gammell’s team is 5-0 on the season. In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Johnson & Wales on Friday, Apr. 20.
