Kinsey Durgin
Earns Second Weekly Honor |
|

|
Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College senior guard Kinsey Durgin (Greenwood, ME) was
named to the Eastern College Athletics Conference (ECAC) honor roll
for his impressive performances during the week ending Jan. 7. Less
than twenty-four hours earlier, Durgin was selected as the Little East
Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week by the conference
office. He averaged 14.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 65
minutes of action. |

Durgin scored 17
points to become just the 27th Rhode Island College men's basketball
student-athlete to eclipse the 1,000 career-point benchmark in an
88-80 victory over Bridgewater State College on Jan. 4. He also pulled
in a season-high 11 rebounds against the Bears, marking his first
double-double of the campaign. |

Later in the week,
Durgin registered 12 points, hauled in five rebounds and handed out an
assist as the Anchormen defeated Little East Conference rival Eastern
Connecticut, 87-79, in overtime on Jan. 6. |
|
|
|
Through the first 12 games this season, Durgin is
averaging 15.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 steals. He
leads the team in scoring and assists (33), while ranking fifth in the
conference in scoring. Durgin has reached double figures in scoring in
his past six contests, including a season-high 29 points at Plymouth
State on Dec. 9. |

Rhode Island College (11-1), which is enjoying its best start in the
past 36 years, returns to action on Jan. 11 when the Anchormen
travel to Framingham State for a 7 p.m. tipoff. |
