SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT WINS THREE AT RIC QUAD-MEET
Moroney Leads RIC as Anchorwomen Drop Three |
|
Providence, RI—The Southern Connecticut State University Owls
went 3-0 at a quad-meet, hosted by Rhode Island College on Saturday
afternoon. The Owls posted a team score of 183.200, while Bridgeport
and Ithaca were slightly off the pace with scores of 181.950 and
180.125, respectively. The Anchorwomen posted a team score of 170.525,
which was 11.550 points higher than RIC’s output at the SUNY Brockport
tri-meet last weekend. |

The
Owls posted the day’s high mark on three of four events. Freshman
Sarah Darst (Tampa, FL) placed first out of 24 competitors on bars
with a score of 9.550. Senior Kelly Todd (Orchard Park, NY) was
first on beam with a score of 9.500, while senior Erika Pysh
(Plainville, CT) logged a meet-high score of 9.625 of floor. |

Bridgeport sophomore Katherine Reitz (Phoenix, AZ) posted the
top vault score at 9.500, while Ithaca senior Kelly Stevison
(Manassas, VA) logged the best all-around mark at 37.025. |

|
Rhode Island College sophomore Breanna Moroney (Metuchen, NJ)
led RIC with an all-around score 34.975, to go along with team-best
scores of 9.050 on vault, 8.350 on bars and 8.975 on floor. Freshman
Elizabeth Ann Glunt (Altoona, PA) posted RIC’s top beam mark at
9.100. |
