Stewart paced a balanced scoring attack for the Anchormen (18-3, 9-2
LEC), as three other student-athletes reached double digits in
scoring. Stewart was nearly perfect from the floor, knocking down
five of his six attempts, including a blistering three of four from
behind the arc. Senior guard Kinsey Durgin (Greenwood, Maine)
and sophomore guard Bobby Bailey (Fall River, Mass.) each
registered 12 points, while senior swingman Brian Stanko
(Swansea, Mass.) logged 11 points. |

Rhode
Island College led from the first basket to the final buzzer, as the
Anchormen finished the contest shooting 49.1 percent from the field
(28-for-57). The visitors used their precise 3-point shooting to
quickly build an early 10-point advantage nearly five minutes into
the contest. Rhode Island College continued to dial it up from long
range, knocking down seven triples, as the Anchormen pushed their
advantage to 19 points, 42-23, heading into the intermission. |

The
visitors continued their torrid shooting in the second stanza,
converting on 58.3 percent of their attempts (14-for-24). Stewart
drilled a trio of 3-pointers in the first 10 minutes of the half to
extend Rhode Island College’s lead to 26 points, 63-37. The
Colonials (13-9, 7-4) scored 16 of the final 22 points to close out
the game. |
