WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS SNAPS
43-MATCH LOSING STREAK IN
WIN OVER WILSON |

Chambersburg, PA—The
Rhode Island College women’s gymnastics team snapped a 43-match
losing streak in a 173.475-158.700 win at Wilson College on Sunday
afternoon. The Anchorwomen bested the Phoenix on each event, posting
scores of 43.900 on vault, 41.375 on bars, 44.800 on beam and 43.400
on floor. |

Sophomore
Breanna Moroney (Metuchen, NJ) posted the second-highest
all-around total on the day with a score of 35.400. She recorded
scores of 8.900 on vault, 8.550 on bars, 9.050 on beam and 8.900 on
floor. Moroney led the team on bars with a meet-high score of 8.550.
She tied with teammate senior Melissa Jones (Cranston, RI)
for the meet’s second-highest mark on vault. Moroney also logged the
third-highest scores on beam and floor. |

Senior Megan
Joseph (Hope, RI) registered a meet and team-high score of 9.050
on floor. She logged the meet’s second best score on beam with a
team-high mark of 9.425, while registering a 8.750 vault score. |

|
Freshman Elizabeth Ann Glunt (Altoona, PA) posted the
third-highest all-around score at 34.525. She recorded marks of
8.700 on vault, 8.325 on bars, 8.950 on beam and 8.550 on floor. Her
8.325 mark on bars was the second-highest score on that event. |

Junior Melissa Demirjian (Warwick, RI) posted the
fourth-highest all-around total with a score of 32.200. She recorded
marks of 8.650 on vault, 8.000 on bars, 7.200 on beam and 8.350 on
floor. |

|
Rhode Island College’s last win came at Wilson on Jan. 15, 2005. The
Anchorwomen are currently 1-14 on the season and 1-8 against ECAC
Div. III opposition. |
