ANCHORWOMEN FALL IN SEASON-OPENER
|
|
Providence, RI—The
Rhode Island College women’s volleyball team lost their
season-opening match, falling, 3-0, to Colby-Sawyer in first round
action of the Springfield College Invitational. RIC lost the first
two games by a combined margin of five points (30-28, 30-27), before
the Chargers took game three (30-25) to win the match. |

Senior hitter
Sherri Heard (Coventry, RI) led the Anchorwomen offensively
with nine kills. Senior middle blocker Kimiyo Garcia (Riverside,
RI) logged eight kills and four blocks, while sophomore outside
hitter Sharon Corriveau (Coventry, RI) chipped in with five
kills, eight digs and a service ace. The senior setter tandem of
Amy Souza (Tiverton, RI) and Jeanne Rosa (Milford, CT)
led the team with a combined 29 assists with 17 and 12,
respectively. |
