JENSEN PLACES THIRD AS RIC MEN’S
GOLF OPENS UP
2007 CAMPAIGN AT JOHSON & WALES |

Providence, RI –
Rhode Island College freshman Derek Jensen (Cumberland, RI)
placed third overall (40 competitors), shooting a 74, as the
Anchormen finished fourth among eight teams at the Johnson & Wales
Invitational on Friday afternoon at Cranston Country Club. Rhode
Island College posted a team score of 310, which was three strokes
off the pace set by winner UMass Dartmouth. |

Sophomore
Barrett Kern (Pawtucket, RI) tied for fourth place with an
effort of 75. Sophomore R.J. Tassoni (Warwick, RI) tied for
16th at 80, while freshman Derek Audette
(Lincoln, RI) and Kevin Smith (West Hartford,
CT) finished 19th and 20th, respectively
with scores of 81 and 82. |

In upcoming
action, Head Coach Greg Gammell’s team will host Elms,
Wentworth and Nichols on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Triggs Memorial Golf
Course. |
