Rhode Island College Men’s
Outdoor Track & Field Starts Season at Husky Spring Open
|

|
|
Dedham,
MA—The
Rhode Island College men’s outdoor track and field team started the
2008 season at the Husky Spring Open, hosted by Northeastern at the
Solomon Track. It was an individual meet with no team scoring. |
|
|
|
|
|
Sophomore
Max Willett (Portsmouth, RI) placed third in the high jump with
a 1.82-meter effort. Sophomore Kevin Leber (Newport, RI) and
senior Charles Kuti (Providence, RI) finished third and
fourth, respectively, in the long jump at 6.11 and 6.04 meters. |

Senior
Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) and junior Hunter Stewart
(Foster, RI) placed third and fourth, respectively, with times
of 24.87 and 24.88 in the 400 meters. |

Junior Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI) placed
seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:05.20, while freshman
Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) took eighth in the 5,000 meters
with a time of 16:23.36. |
|
|
|
Junior Dante Lopardo (Johnston, RI) placed
sixth in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump with efforts of
5.90 and 11.83 meters, respectively. |
|
|
|
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will hold
its annual invitational on Saturday, Mar. 29. |
