Rhode Island College Hosts
Annual
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Invitational
|

|
Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College hosted its annual men’s and women’s outdoor track and
field invitational on Saturday, Mar. 29. It was an individual meet
with no team scoring. |
|
|
|
|
|
On the men’s
side, sophomore Max Willett (Portsmouth, RI) placed first in
the high jump with a 1.93-meter effort. He also placed third in the
long jump (5.65m) and fifth in the javelin (43.70m). |

|
Junior
Dante Lopardo (Johnston, RI) placed first in both the long jump
and triple jumps with efforts of 5.89 and 10.72 meters,
respectively. He was also second in the high jump (1.83m) and sixth
in the javelin (43.47). |

Junior
Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI) placed first in the 1,500 meters
with a time of 4:16.65. Junior Hunter Stewart (Foster, RI)
placed first in the 400 meters with a time 51.88. Senior Mike Van
Gieson (Foster, RI) placed first in the 800 meters with a time
of 1:58.41. |

On the
women’s side, junior Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) placed
first in both the long and high jump events with efforts of 4.54 and
1.52 meters, respectively. Fleming also won the 400 meters with a
time of 1:03.99. |

Junior
Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington, RI) won the hammer event with a
toss of 41.61 meters. |
|
|
|
Sophomore
Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) placed second in the hammer
(39.86m), third in the shot (9.64m) and fourth in the discus
(30.00m) |
|
|
|
Freshman
Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed first in both the triple
jump (9.16m) and the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.75. |
