RIC WOMEN’S TRACK PLACES SIXTH
AT COAST GUARD INVITATIONAL
|

|
New
London, CT—The
Rhode Island College women’s outdoor track and field team placed
sixth (12 teams) with a score of 75.0 at the Coast Guard
Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The host’s won the meet with a
score of 122.0. |

|
|
|
Junior Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) had
another outstanding meet, placing first (1.60 meters) in the high
jump, fourth (5.03 meters) in the long jump and second in the 800
meters (2:24.35). |
|
|
|
|
Junior Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington, RI)
placed first (44.95 meters) in the hammer. |
|
|
|
Sophomore Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI)
placed second (41.33 meters) in the hammer and fourth (30.66 meters)
in the discus. Freshman Rachael Santaniello (Exeter, RI)
placed fourth (35.11) in the hammer. |

|
Sophomore Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) placed
second in the triple jump (10.10 meters) and ninth in the 400 meters
(1:05.47). Freshman Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed
fifth (16.83), while classmate Jamie Nunes (Lincoln, RI)
placed eighth (17.40), in the 100 meter hurdles. |

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete
at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 12. |
