LAST SECOND GOAL SINKS ANCHORWOMEN
Darby Scores Four in
Losing Effort |

Providence, RI-Worcester
State sophomore midfielder Abby Cosenza (Shrewsbury, MA)
scored the game-winning goal with nine seconds left in regulation to
lift the Lancers to a 9-8 victory over Rhode Island College Tuesday
evening at the RIC Lacrosse Field. Cosenza tied the game with 2:56
left on the clock prior to her heroics. |

Worcester
State raises its record to 8-3, while the Anchorwomen fall to 3-9. |

|
|
The two clubs
were tied at the half, 4-4, but the Lancers bested RIC by one tally
over the final 30 minutes. In an evenly played contest, RIC outshot
Worcester State, 31-28, but the Lancers held an advantage in ground
balls, 31-27. |

|
WSC junior
attack Shannon Feeley (West Springfield, MA) posted a
game-high five points with four goals and one assist, while Cosenza
contributed a hat trick. |

|
Rhode Island
College sophomore midfielder Meridith Darby (Middletown, RI)
led the Anchorwomen with four goals, while senior midfielders
Sydney Culbertson (North Kingstown, RI) and Kerry McDevitt
(Jamestown, RI) each recorded two points. |

Senior goalie
Lyndsey Nunes (Westfield, MA) made nine saves to earn her
eighth (8-3) win, while Hilary Switzer (Woonsocket, RI) takes
the loss (3-9) for RIC with a nine save effort. |

Marissa Kielbasinski (Windsor, CT) and Erin Duffy (North
Dighton, MA), along with their families, were recognized |

In upcoming
action, Rhode Island College will wrap up the regular season with a
non-conference game at Bridgewater State on Thursday. Apr. 24,
before rounding out the Little East Conference circuit at Eastern
Connecticut on Saturday, Apr. 26. |
