RIC Women’s Track & Field Wraps Up
Season at ECAC Championships

Springfield, MA—The Rhode Island College women’s outdoor track and field team wrapped up the 2008 season at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships, hosted by Springfield College on May 15-16. The Anchorwomen placed 44^th (52 teams) with a score of 4.0. Moravian won the championship with a score of 57.0.

Junior Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) earned All-ECAC honors in the high jump, tying for fourth with a 1.61-meter effort.

Junior Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington, RI) tied for 17^th, and sophomore Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) placed 25^th in the hammer with distances of 42.66 and 39.73 meters, respectively.

Sophomore Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) placed 22^nd in the triple jump at 10.15 meters, while freshman Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed 19^th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.61.
