MARTIN NETS 19 FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE GAME
Anchorwomen Slide Past Wildcats, 78-62 |

Providence, RI--Rhode
Island College won for the third consecutive time, earning a 78-62
win over cross-city rival Johnson & Wales on Tuesday evening at The
Murray Center. The Anchorwomen improve to 4-2, while the Wildcats
suffer their third straight loss and slip to 1-4 on the season. |

Rhode Island
College junior guard Tyla Martin (Cumberland, RI) led RIC
with a 19-point effort for the second straight game. She added six
boards and two steals. Three additional Anchorwomen reached double
figures in scoring as sophomore guard Alice Mullen (Saunderstown,
RI) fell one rebound shy of a double-double with 14 points and
nine rebounds. Mullen drained a game-high four three-pointers,
shooting 4-for-8 from downtown. Sophomore forward Jenn Knott
(Narragansett, RI) and junior guard Michelle McNamee
(Cranston, RI) each contributed 12 points. McNamee chipped in
with six boards and two assists. Senior point guard Sarah
Coughlin (North Attleboro, MA) fell one assist short of her
career-high, handing out nine helpers and grabbing seven rebounds. |

Johnson &
Wales sophomore forward Alexia Ramirez (San Marcos, CA)
posted a double-double, leading all scorers and rebounders with a
20-point, 19-rebound effort to go along with three blocks. Sophomore
forward Maria Valletta (Greenville, RI) also posted a
double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. |

The Wildcats
struggled all game from the floor, shooting just 24 percent
(20-for-85). The three-point shot was also a key factor in the game,
as RIC shot 40 percent (6-for-15), while JWU managed to only shoot
18 percent (5-for-28). |

|
In upcoming
action, Rhode Island College will host Connecticut College on
Thursday, Dec. 6. The Wildcats return to action on Dec. 6 as well,
hosting Lasell at 7 p.m. |
