Rhode Island College Men’s & Women’s
Indoor Track and Field Swings Back Into Action
at Yale Invitational

 

 

 

New Haven, CT—The Rhode Island College men’s and women’s indoor track & field team saw their first action since Dec. 8 at the 26th Yale Intercollegiate Track Classic on Saturday, Jan. 12. It was an individual meet for both clubs with no team scoring.

 

 

 

For the men, junior Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI) placed 11th in the mile with a time of 4:31.87. Senior James Polak (Smithfield, RI) placed 20th in the weight throw with a distance of 11.69 meters.

On the women’s side, junior Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) placed seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:28.04. She also placed ninth in the high jump with a 1.60-meter effort. Sophomore Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) finished 11th in the shot at 10.89 meters, while classmate Steina Flemming (Tortola, BVI) placed 12th in the 60 meters with a time of 8.09.

In upcoming action, Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team will compete at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m.
