Rhode Island College Men’s &
Women’s
Indoor Track and Field Swings Back Into Action
at Yale Invitational

|
New Haven,
CT—The
Rhode Island College men’s and women’s indoor track & field team saw
their first action since Dec. 8 at the 26th Yale
Intercollegiate Track Classic on Saturday, Jan. 12. It was an
individual meet for both clubs with no team scoring. |
|
|
|
|
|
For the men,
junior Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI) placed 11th in
the mile with a time of 4:31.87. Senior James Polak (Smithfield,
RI) placed 20th in the weight throw with a distance
of 11.69 meters. |

|
On the
women’s side, junior Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) placed
seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:28.04. She also placed
ninth in the high jump with a 1.60-meter effort. Sophomore
Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) finished 11th in the
shot at 10.89 meters, while classmate Steina Flemming (Tortola,
BVI) placed 12th in the 60 meters with a time of
8.09. |

action, Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team will compete at the
Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. |
