Junior forward Danielle Gelinas (Dayville, CT)
scored her first career goal on what proved to be the game-winner in the second minute off of
a Creamer blast. Creamer added the club’s next two tallies with
unassisted markers in the eighth and 61st minutes,
respectively. Junior midfielder Christina Tavana (Middletown, CT)

Sophomore goalkeeper
Maddie Pirri (Bristol, RI) did not have to make a save to earn
her first win (1-1) of the season and fifth career shutout. The
Anchorwomen defense limited Pitt-Bradford (0-2) to just one shot,
which was not on net. Lady Panther freshman goalkeeper Zigarski
Autumn made four saves in a losing effort. |

The Anchorwomen dropped
their season-opener a day earlier against the hosts, 2-0.

After a scoreless first
half, Saint John Fisher (1-1) sophomore Megan Gee registered
the first goal on a scramble in front of the net in the 52nd
minute. Sarah Bihl crossed the ball in from the far right
wing, with Pirri attempting to make a play on the ball. The ball
bounced off of several players inadvertently before Kelly
Zeppetella slipped the ball to Gee, who drove the ball hard into
the left side to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead. |

On another loose ball play
in the 63rd minute, Amanda Siebert sent the ball
in to Bihl from the right side, where she gave Fisher the 2-0
victory with a shot to the low right. |

Tavana recorded two of the
Anchorwomen’s four shots. Pirri made six stops in a losing effort. |
