BABSON
HANDS ANCHORWOMEN SECOND CONSECUTIVE SHUTOUT LOSS
|

Babson Park, Mass.—The
Babson College women’s soccer team won their second straight game
defeating Rhode Island College 5-0 in a non-conference match
Saturday afternoon at Hartwell-Rogers Field on the Babson College
campus. Senior tri-captain Jackie Graham (Winchester, Mass.)
and first-year midfielder Annie Kenney (Weston, Mass.) both
contributed two goals apiece in the victory as the Beavers outshot
the Anchorwomen, 33-5. |

The Beavers’ (2-1) first goal of the
game was scored by Graham in the 34th minute when she headed in a
cross from teammate Kirsten Schmid (Babylon, N.Y.). Graham
scored her second goal of the game just four minutes later off a
pass from fellow senior tri-captain Shir Castel (Boston, Mass.).
Babson improved their lead to 3-0 when Kenney scored off a corner
kick from junior back Sam Bartman (Upton, Mass.) at 59:23.
The Beavers would tack on two more goals in the second half when
Castel scored at the 68-minute mark and Kenney put in her second
goal with 15 minutes remaining to give the Babson the 5-0 triumph, |

Rhode Island College (1-3) sophomore
goalie Maddie Pirri (Bristol, R.I.) had 12 saves in net for
the Anchorwomen. Babson College junior Sam Scarpato (Weston,
Mass.) and sophomore Sarah Macary (Woodbury, Conn.) split
time in goal for the Beavers. Macary made the only two saves for
Babson – both in the second half of play. |

Junior midfielder Christina Tavana (Middletown,
Conn.) recorded three shots, while sophomore midfielder
Chelsea Creamer (Coventry, R.I.) logged two. |
