MEN’S
CROSS COUNTRY PLACES 28th at
UMASS DARTMOUTH INVITATIONAL
|

Dartmouth, MA—The
Rhode Island
College men’s cross country team opened the 2008 season at the UMass
Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Anchormen placed
28th (38 teams) with a score of 842. Little East
Conference rival Keene State won the meet with a score of 85. |

Sophomore
Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) was RIC’s top runner, placing
109th with a time of 27:23. Freshman Kyle Mann (West
Warwick, RI) placed 173rd with a time of 28:54.
Freshman Ethan Leary (Newport, RI) placed 189th
with a time of 29:23. Freshman Andrew Augustus (Bristol, RI)
placed 204th with a time of 29:51. Freshman Andy
Danesi (Johnston, RI) placed 213th with a time of
30:14. Senior Hunter Stewart (Johnston, RI) placed 238th
with a time of 31:26. Junior Chris Farrell (Cumberland, RI)
placed 263rd with a time of 33:58. |

In the men’s sub-varsity race, freshman Chris
Usler (Warwick, RI) placed 223rd with a time of
34:48, while classmate Pat Brassil (Wakefield, RI) placed 229th
with a time of 35:54. |

In upcoming
action, RIC will host its annual Ray Dwyer Invitational on Saturday,
Sept. 27 at the Community College of Rhode Island (Lincoln). |
