WOMEN’S
CROSS COUNTRY PLACES 27th at
UMASS DARTMOUTH INVITATIONAL

North Dartmouth, MA—The
Rhode Island
College women’s cross country team opened the 2008 season at the
UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Anchorwomen
placed 27th (41 teams) with a score of 786. MIT won the
meet with a score of 67. |

Freshman Jacqueline Towle
(Swanzey, NH) was RIC’s top runner, placing 119th
with a time of 20:42. Freshman Brittany Richer (Woonsocket, RI)
placed 145th with a time of 21:01. Sophomore Katie
Desrosiers (Warwick, RI) placed 186th with a time of
21:39. Sophomore Heather Feeney (Warwick, RI) placed 197th
with a time of 21:46. Sophomore Lindsey Brisson (Coventry, RI)
placed 219th with a time of 22:11. Junior Ashley
Guimond (Sterling, CT) placed 229th with a time of
22:28. Sophomore Nicole Poirier (Concord, NH) placed 247th
with a time of 22:53. |

In the women’s sub-varsity race, freshman Justyna
Barlow (Foster, RI) placed 131st with a time of
24:03, while senior captain Hannah Clark (Attleboro, MA)
placed 146th with a time of 24:36. |

In upcoming action, RIC will host its
annual Ray Dwyer Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Community
College of Rhode Island (Lincoln). |
