4-14 Overall Record; 0-4 in
the Little East Conference |

Head Coach Jay Grenier’s
Anchormen are 4-14 overall and 0-4 in the Little East Conference. RIC
went 2-2 on the week, defeating Suffolk University 7-5 on Apr. 2 and
Salem State College 7-3 on Apr. 4. In Little East action, the
Anchormen were swept by Keene State College on Apr. 6, falling 5-3 in
both games |

Senior right fielder Russ
Barron (Cranston, RI) has played in 18 games, starting all of
them. He is batting .299 with ten runs, 20 hits, seven doubles, eight
RBI and two stolen bases. |

Senior catcher/designated
hitter Sean McNamara (Warwick, RI) has played in 15 games,
starting 14 of them. He is batting .228 with eight runs, 13 hits, four
doubles, four RBI and one stolen base. |

Senior catcher/designated
hitter Dave Quaglia (Attleboro, MA) has played in 18 games,
starting all of them. He is batting .274 with 17 runs, 17 hits, ten
doubles, one home run and 13 RBI. |

Junior pitcher Dan
Furtado (East Providence, RI) has appeared in nine games. He is
0-2 with a 9.24 ERA and nine strikeouts in 12.2 innings pitched. |

Junior first basemen Eric
Gibree (Bristol, RI) was injured vs. Keene State, breaking his
nose in a collision with a fence. He is currently day-to-day. Gibree
has played in 16 games, starting all of them. He is batting .311 with
12 runs, 19 hits, one double, three triples, one home run and ten RBI. |

Junior outfielder Marco
Neves (Pawtucket, RI) has played in seven games, starting three of
them. He is batting .250 with two hits and two runs scored. |

Junior third basemen
Brian Peer (Windsor, CT) has played in eight games, starting six
of them. He is batting .182 with five runs, four hits and one RBI. |

Sophomore pitcher Jeremy
Edwards (Exeter, RI) has appeared in two games. He is 0-1 with one
save, a 0.00 ERA and five strikeouts in 3.0 innings pitched. |

Sophomore outfielder Ryan
Lynch (Newport, RI) has missed the last few games with tendonitis
in his shoulder and is out indefinitely. Lynch has played in ten
games, starting six of them. He is batting .250 with three runs, four
hits, one double and three RBI. |

Sophomore second basemen Mike
Melucci (Lincoln, RI) has played in 12 games, starting ten of
them. He is batting .205 with two runs, eight hits, one double, four
RBI and one stolen base. |

Sophomore shortstop George
Serra (Westerly, RI) has missed the last six games with a broken
thumb, but should return to the lineup within a week. Serra has played
in nine games, starting all of them. He is batting .313 with one run,
ten hits, one double, five RBI and one stolen base. |

Steere (Chepachet, RI) has appeared in five games, starting three
of them. He is 0-2 with a 8.84 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 19.1 innings

Benchsky (Cranston, RI) has played in 18 games, starting 16 of
them. He is batting .174 with seven runs, eight hits, three doubles

hitter Matthew Brannon (Cranston, RI) has appeared in seven
games, starting four of them. He is 1-3 with a 3.44 ERA, two complete
games and 30 strikeouts in 34.0 innings pitched. As a hitter, he has

DeCorte (Chepachet, RI) has appeared in six games, starting one of
them. He is 1-1 with a 4.24 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 17.0 innings

Glenn Dusablon (North Smithfield, RI) has appeared in six
games, starting four of them. He is 2-1 with a 4.72 ERA and 21
strikeouts in 26.2 innings pitched. As a hitter, he has played in six
games, starting four of them. He is batting .400 with one run and two
hits. |

basemen/shortstop Mike Luke (Cranston, RI) has played in 14
games, starting 13 of them. He is batting .178 with six runs, eight
hits, one double, six RBI and two stolen bases. Luke has already been
hit by a pitch nine times this season, setting a RIC single season
record. He trails all-time leader Andy Barron ’01 by five for
the RIC career record. |

Milano (Johnston, RI) has appeared in three games, starting all of
them. He is 0-3 with a 7.64 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 17.2 innings
pitched. |

Payette (Woonsocket, RI) has played in six games, starting four of

them. He is batting .293 with ten runs, 17 hits, three doubles, one

In upcoming action, RIC
will travel to Bridgewater State on Apr. 8, host Framingham State on
Apr. 10, UMASS-Dartmouth on Apr. 11 and Clark on Apr. 12. The
Anchormen close out the week at Eastern Connecticut State on Apr. 13. |

Anchorwomen are 12-3 overall and 3-1 in the Little East Conference. |

RIC won all four of its
contests this past week. The Anchorwomen shutout Babson College 2-0 on
Apr. 2. RIC defeated Worcester State 8-1 at home on Apr. 3. In Little
East action, the Anchorwomen swept Southern Maine on Apr. 6 (4-2,
6-2). |

Leighton (Providence, RI) has played in 11 games, starting nine of
them. She is batting .333 with one run and one hit. |

Schimmel (Cumberland, RI) has played in 15 games, starting 14 of
