North Smithfield’s Glenn Dusablon Earns
Little East Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week Honors for Second
Consecutive Week |

Providence, RI— Rhode
Island College freshman Glenn Dusablon (North Smithfield, RI) was
named the Little East Conference’s Rookie of the Week for the second
consecutive week. |
|
|
|
Dusablon, a pitcher, went
the distance (9 innings) in the Anchormen’s 8-1 win over Framingham
State on Apr. 10, fanning seven to earn his third win of the 2002
season. |
|
|
|
For the season, he has
appeared in seven games, starting five of them. He is 3-1 with a 3.79
ERA and 28 strikeouts in 35.2 innings pitched. As a hitter, he has
played in ten games, starting four of them. He is batting .211 with
two runs and four hits. |

|
He is a 2001 graduate of
North Smithfield High School. |

Head Coach Jay Grenier’s
Anchormen are 6-18 overall and 0-7 in the Little East Conference. RIC
went 2-4 overall and 0-3 in the LEC last week. The Anchormen fell to
Bridgewater State 15-6 on Apr. 8, but bounced back to defeat
Framingham State 8-1 on Apr. 10. |

LEC rival UMASS-Dartmouth
defeated RIC 13-2 on Apr. 11. The Anchormen executed their highest
offensive output of the season with 19 runs scored against Clark on
Apr. 12, taking the win 19-7. RIC closed out the week against LEC
opponent Eastern Connecticut on Apr. 13, losing both games of the
doubleheader 5-4 and 12-3. |
