Advances in ECAC Tournament |

Providence, RI— The
Rhode Island College softball team advanced in the Eastern College
Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Tournament with a
4-1 victory over third-seeded Coast Guard in the first round on
Wednesday, May 8 in New London, CT. |

|
The sixth-seeded
Anchorwomen will play in the double-elimination semi-finals, which
will be hosted by top-seeded Clark University, on Saturday, May 11.
RIC will face second-seeded Endicott at noon. RIC will either play at
2 p.m. with a loss, or at 4 p.m. with a win. Clark will face
fifth-seeded Fitchburg State at 10 a.m. The finals will be held on
Sunday, May 12 at Clark. |

Senior outfielder Keri
Leighton (Providence, RI) has played in 28 games, starting 25 of
them. She is batting .400 with one run, two hits and one RBI. |

pitcher/outfielder Kim Warrington (North Kingstown, RI) has
appeared in 26 games, starting 23 of them. She is 15-8 with a 0.97
ERA, 21 complete games, seven shutouts, and 139 strikeouts in 158.2
innings. As a designated player, she has played in 31 games, starting
27 of them. She is batting .193 with nine runs, 16 hits, three
doubles, four triples, 12 RBI and two stolen bases. |
