Jessica Knobel begins her seventh season as the assistant women's soccer coach. She assists the head coach  with all phases of the RIC women's soccer program, including recruiting, scouting, administering practices and game coaching.

 

As a goalkeeper for the Anchorwomen from 1997-2000, Knobel was one of the program’s building blocks. Knobel played in 56 career games, starting all of them. She logged 4,866 minutes with 546 saves, a 1.65 goals against average, a .860 save percentage and 13.5 shutouts. She is RIC’s all-time leader in career minutes played, saves and is second in shutouts. She started and played every minute of every game from the time she was a freshman until the second game of the ’99 season, a span of 39 games and 3,613 minutes.

 

She earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a concentration in mathematics from RIC in 2001. Knobel is currently a math teacher at Cranston High School East.

 

She resides in Providence, Rhode Island with her son Jeremy (3).
