Rhode Island College Men’s Outdoor Track Update #1

Providence, RI--Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the Husky Spring Open, hosted by Northeastern University, on Mar. 29. There were no teams scores kept at the meet.

Freshman Manny Karngar (Providence, RI) placed third in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:10.30.

Sophomore Marc Piette (Woonsocket, RI) placed fourth in the hammer with a throw of 49.05 meters.

Senior Chris Puleo (Barrington, RI) placed tenth in the 400 meters with a time of 51.96.

Senior Rob Wahnon (Framingham, MA) placed 37th in the 400 meters with a time of 1:03.52

Senior Joe Padykula (Seekonk, MA) placed 21st in the discus with a distance of 32.14 meters. He placed 21st in the hammer with a distance of 37.31 meters.

Freshman Nick Palazzo (Providence, RI) placed ninth in the hammer with a distance of 43.81 meters.

Senior Tim Rudd (Warwick, RI) placed 16th in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:17.09.

Sophomore Joe Parenteau (Smithfield, RI) placed 22nd in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:56.98.

Senior Brian Carney (Barrington, RI) placed 24th in the long jump with a leap of 4.75 meters.

In upcoming action, RIC will host its annual invitational on Saturday, Apr. 5.
