Beavers Defeat RIC 4-1
Providence, RI—Babson College improved to 9-6 on the season with a 4-1 victory over Rhode Island College in a snow-swept contest. The loss drops the Anchorwomen to 9-8 on the season.
The Beavers used a three-run fourth inning to pull away, capped by Jamie Bowman’s two-run double. Bowman finished the day 3-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Colleen Kelly allowed only one run and struck out two to earn her sixth win of the season (6-3).
RIC’s Michele Fanelli plated the Anchorwomen’s lone run with a double in the seventh. Fanelli went 4-4 and pitcher Kim Warrington was the hard-luck loser, striking out 12 and allowing four unearned runs. Warrington drops to 7-5.
In upcoming action, RIC will play at Worcester State on Wednesday, Apr. 2 at 3 p.m.
