Rhode Island College Men’s Outdoor Track Update #2

Providence, RI--Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team hosted the RIC Invitational on Apr. 6. RIC placed fourth with a score of 54. Bentley College won the meet with a score of 108. 13 teams took part in the meet.

Freshman Manny Karngar (Providence, RI) placed first in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.70. Senior Tim Rudd (Warwick, RI) placed second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.90.

Sophomore Joe Parenteau (Smithfield, RI) placed fifth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:04.70. He placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.80.

Senior Chris Puleo (Barrington, RI) placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 50.20. He placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 22.70.

Junior Charles Kuti (Providence, RI) placed 17th in the 100 meters with a time of 12.00. He placed 14th in the 200 meters with a time of 23.80. He placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 18’06.00”.

Senior Joe Padykula (Seekonk, MA) placed eighth in the discus with a distance of 33.73 meters. He placed ninth in the hammer with a distance of 37.70 meters.

Freshman Nick Heufelder (Smithfield, RI) placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 37’08.00”.

Freshman Richard Palazzo (Providence, RI) placed seventh in the hammer with a distance of 38.10 meters.

Senior Rob Wahnon (Framingham, MA) placed 24th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:18.10.

Freshman Derek Freitas (North Kingstown, RI) placed 30th in the 800 meters with a time of 3:13.50.
