RI--The
Rhode Island College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics,
Intramurals and Recreation held its annual Spring Banquet at RIC’s
Donovan Dining Center on Monday, May 6 to honor those student-athletes
who participate in varsity spring athletics. Each sport gave out their
Most Valuable Player Award. |

Senior
Chris Puleo (Barrington,
RI)
was named the men’s outdoor track and field team's Most Valuable Performer. Puleo earned
All-New England honors in the 400 meters, placing second with a
time of 49.44. Puleo also placed 13th as part of the 4 x
100 meters relay with a time of 45.64 and 11th as part of
the 4 x 400 meter relay with a time of 3:32.13. He earned
All-Alliance/Little East honors in the 200 and 400 meters, as well as
the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 meter relays. He placed first overall in the
400 meters with a time of school-record 48.83, third in the 200 meters
with a time of 22.49 and first as part of the 4 x 400 meter relay team
with a time of 3:28.26. He placed third as part of the 4 x 100 relay
with a time of 44.65 at the 2003 Little East Conference/MASCAC
Alliance Championships. |
