Chris Puleo Named Men's  Outdoor Track and Field MVP

Providence, RI--The Rhode Island College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation held its annual Spring Banquet at RIC’s Donovan Dining Center on Monday, May 6 to honor those student-athletes who participate in varsity spring athletics. Each sport gave out their Most Valuable Player Award.

Senior Chris Puleo (Barrington, RI) was named the men’s outdoor track and field team's Most Valuable Performer. Puleo earned All-New England honors in the 400 meters, placing second with a time of 49.44. Puleo also placed 13th as part of the 4 x 100 meters relay with a time of 45.64 and 11th as part of the 4 x 400 meter relay with a time of 3:32.13. He earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in the 200 and 400 meters, as well as the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 meter relays. He placed first overall in the 400 meters with a time of school-record 48.83, third in the 200 meters with a time of 22.49 and first as part of the 4 x 400 meter relay team with a time of 3:28.26. He placed third as part of the 4 x 100 relay with a time of 44.65 at the 2003 Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships.

He is a criminal justice major and 1998 graduate of Barrington High School.
