Knuettel and Daniels to Captain
Rhode Island College Men’s Cross Country |

Providence, RI— Rhode
Island College senior Mike Daniels (Warwick, RI) and junior Misha
Knuettel (Warwick, RI) will captain the men’s cross country
team for the 2002 season. |
|
|
|
Daniels placed 121st
with a time of 29:05.18 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Sept.
21. As a junior in 2001, Daniels placed 166th with a time
of 28:56 at the New England Division III Championships. Daniels
placed 103rd with a time of 29:44 at the ECAC Division
III Championships. He placed 55th with a time of 28:54 at
the Alliance Championships. He placed fifth with a time of 31:54 at
the Eastern Nazarene Invitational. He placed 28th with a time of
31:28 at the Bryant Invitational. He placed 40th with a
time of 30:14 at the Tri-State Championships. He placed 32nd
with a time of 30:34 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational. Daniels placed
120th with a season-best time of 28:36 at the UMASS-Dartmouth
Invitational. |

Prior to coming to RIC,
Daniels competed for the Community College of Rhode Island. He is a
special education major and a 1997 graduate of Veterans High School. |

|
Knuettel is a newcomer to
RIC this fall, having transferred from Manhattan College. He placed
54th with a time 27:11.66 at the UMass-Dartmouth
Invitational on Sept. 21. |

He is a political science
major and a 1999 graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School. |
|
|
|
Head Coach Kevin
Jackson’s team opened the 2002 campaign at the UMass-Dartmouth
Invitational, placing 13th out of 38 teams on Sept. 21. |

|
In upcoming action, RIC
will host the annual Ray Dwyer Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 28. |
