Rebecca Horton to Captain
Rhode Island College Women’s Cross Country

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College senior Rebecca Horton (Seekonk, MA) will captain the women’s cross country team for the 2003 season.

As a junior in 2002, Horton placed 174^th with a time of 25:40 at the New England Div. III Championships. She placed 148^th at the ECAC Div. III Championships with a time of 28:25. Horton placed 47^th at the Alliance Championships with a time of 22:31. She placed 179^th with a season-best time of 22:12 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.

She is a technology education major with a communications minor and is a 2000 graduate of Seekonk High School.

Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team will begin the season at the Ocean State Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 11. The meet will be hosted by CCRI and will begin at 5 p.m.
